Text: II Cor. 11:13-15:

"For such are false apostles. deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers, also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall he according to their works.''

The devil has his own churches today and calls more men to preach than God does. "I know thy works, and tribulations and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan." (Revelation 2:9.) In the day of Elijah, there were 150 false preachers to every true prophet of God. It is the duty of every gospel minister today to warn the people of these devils and seducing spirits.

The Devil is the head of his churches and has his own men. These are found in every denomination and religious sect and in every part of the world. Jesus and the apostles had trouble with Devil called preachers and warned the people about them and their false doctrines. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." (I Timothy 4:1,2) Many are they that follow the false preachers today just as in the days of Jesus.

1. How Can you Know a Devil Called Preachers

A man called by the devil to preach preaches a social gospel and is afraid to mention sin and salvation. No one ever gets converted and nobody is made mad. He is a good mixer. "They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world. and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us: he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we spirit of truth and spirit of error." (l John 4:5.),

He is a blind leader of the blind and is spiritually ignorant concerning God and the Bible. He is a dog that cannot bark. What good is a watch dog that sleeps when the enemy is at hand? He is selfish. "They all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.' (Isaiah 56:11.)

II. What Do The Devil's Preachers Preach and What Evil Is Done by Them?

"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." (II Corinthians 11:4.) They preach another Jesus that is not virgin born and not omnipotent in power. They say He is not risen from the dead and is not coming back again.

They preach another spirit. "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of you father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own for he is a liar ,and father of it." (John 8:44.) They preach another gospel. "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel." (Galatians 1:6.) Instead of gathering the sheep, they scatter them. "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings saith The lord." (Jeremiah 23:1, 2.)

They preach good works and use fair speeches. "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly and by good works and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." (Romans 16:18.) They say just do better or turn over a new leaf and one will get to Heaven.

III. Why Does the Devil Call Men to Preach?

The Devil likes admiration and praise. Devil called preachers will sell their very soul for the praise of man. These men give lies of the Devil for the purpose of securing money. Their lives are filthy; their ways are filthy; their minds are filthy; and their rewards are filthy — they receive the filthy lucre of this world.

These preachers are magnets for the Devil. They draw men away from the truth. "Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them" (Acts 20:30.) Their entire work is a work of destruction, destroying men's lives and souls. The Bible says "Woe unto them."

IV. What Will Happen to the Devil Called Preachers?

"These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever."
(II Peter 2:17.) These false prophets will end up at the Judgment Bar of God and be cast into Hell. There will he darkness and punishment. "Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29.)

This meeting in Hell will be quite different from the little recreational parties at the churches of the Devil and the associational meetings where they get together to puff tobacco smoke into each others face and talk of the last movie that they saw. Their end shall be as their works.

V. What Attitude Should God's Children Have Toward Devil Called Preachers?

Some church members never take a stand against the preachers of the Devil for fear of starting trouble in the church. This should not be the attitude of Christians. A child of God should come out from among them. "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words, of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings. Perverse disputings of men, of corrupt minds, an destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness; from such withdraw thyself." (I Timothy 6:3-5.)

If one Christian stays in the Devil's church, others will also stay and this influence harms the cause of Christ. "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them ,and be ye separate, faith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters ,saith the Lord Almighty." (II Corinthians 6:14-18.) The Devil wants good mixers but God is still looking for good separators.

A child of God should never allow a false teacher into their home; if he does, he is supporting their evil works. "Whereupon transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both The Father and the Son. If there came any unto you? and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed: For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds." (II John 9:11.)

A Christian should rebuke and oppose these preachers of the Devil. People sing "Onward Christian Soldiers" but how many are really fighting for the truth? How many will be able to say with Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, l have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." (II Timothy 4:7, 8.)

VI. How Can You Know God's Preachers!

A God called preacher will be as bold as a lion, not afraid of man nor beast. He will expose sin on every hand. "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins." (Isaiah 58:1.) He will have a good compassion for the unsaved on their way to Hell. "Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people." (Jeremiah 9:1.)

God called preachers are despised and persecuted by the world, but the greater the persecution, the greater the reward. Daniel stood true to God in a den of hungry lions. John the Baptist gave his life in order to be a true preacher of Jesus Christ. Elijah was called a "man of God". These men "love not the world, neither the things that are in the world."

Oh! that today there might he more preachers and layman alike who would take an open stand for God against these followers of the Devil! Unless the Christians of our nation awaken, we are headed for defeat. God works through men and He can shake the world with a few true believers, if we will let Him have His wonderful way. Will you follow the Devil or God?
